Barcelona are reportedly concerned that Pep Guardiola could leave the club at the end of next season to become Arsenal's next manager
Guardiola earlier this year signed a one-year extension to his contract at Camp Nou, but according to the Daily Star Sunday, the Spaniard's employers are concerned that their manager will leave the club at the end of the 2011-12 campaign.
The Catalan club wanted Guardiola to sign a longer deal and fear that the 40-year-old is keen on challenging himself in the Premier League.
Guardiola has been linked with the Chelsea job as speculation about the future of Carlo Ancelotti continues, while he has also been touted as a candidate to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson when the Manchester United boss finally calls it a day.
But Guardiola is a big fan of Arsenal and is reportedly interested in succeeding Arsene Wenger.
However, any move to north London in just over twelve months time would depend on Wenger's status at the Emirates.
Wenger still has the backing of the Arsenal board but if he fails to lead the Gunners to the Premiership title this season will have gone six years without any silverware and there will without question be pressure on the Frenchman to deliver next year.
But whether it is next year or further down the line, Guardiola is widely seen as a natural successor to Wenger, with both having similar views on how to play the game.
